Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

What Information We Collect

Only Educators can register for TeachAid; we do not allow any other user types.

  1. When an Educator registers we collect and store the following pieces of information from the Educator:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email Address

  2. In addition, we collect and store the following pieces of information for Educators:

    • Board/District/Region Name

    • School Name

    • Role

  3. We do not collect any ‘personal information’ in respect of students nor do we collect any other information to personally identify a student.

  4. Additional information is collected to improve the quality of the TeachAid service and to manage content delivery. For example, teacher usage information helps us to: make decisions about the educational appropriateness of a specific content type; make decisions about the browsers and platforms TeachAid supports; and identify other technical infrastructure requirements. We may also use this teacher usage information to create new related educational material and features. This information is reported in an anonymous way and in aggregate to protect the identity of the individual educator.

Security

  1. When the disclosure of personal information is required for the use or operation of the TeachAid service, any transfer of such information (for instance, during the registration process) is made via a secure connection, conducted within a firewall and therefore secure from outside probes, and, to the extent it is maintained by TeachAid, resides on TeachAid's secure servers.

  2. These servers perform standard logging which permits the collection of information on ISPs and the type of browser and operating system used. Logging also allows TeachAid to track generic information regarding total accesses to our site.

Cookies

  1. TeachAid uses session and persistent cookies on its websites. Session cookies are data files temporarily installed in users' browsers to help them navigate the site. Persistent cookies, computer files stored on hard drives, are used to help measure traffic to the site. Cookies are used to enable TeachAid to compile statistics, and not to collect information of a personal nature. While users may disable or remove cookies, doing so may make it impossible to fully access Teachaid's websites.

  2. No personal information is ever stored in a cookie, even if your name, telephone number or e-mail address was entered on other parts of the website. TeachAid does not sell information collected by cookies on its websites or use the information for commerce-related purposes.

  3. The following details explain how and when TeachAid might use cookies: As you explore a TeachAid website, a cookie will be set on your computer which will record your IP address. This will tell us which pages you visit and the amount of time spent on each page. This helps us at TeachAid identify new and repeat visitors and tells us how long visitors spend on our Websites and which pages receive the most traffic. This tracking is to enhance your experience by allowing customization and an easier access to the items on the TeachAid website you enjoy.

TeachAid reserves the right to amend the Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. TeachAid users will be informed of any such amendments through the Website or by email. The effective date of any change will be clearly marked.

Terms of Use

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE ("AGREEMENT") CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SERVICES OFFERED BY 1000662662 ONTARIO CORPORATION, OPERATING UNDER THE TRADE NAME TEACHAID ("TEACHAID"). BY USING THE SERVICES, YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND ACCEPT ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES.
THIS AGREEMENT REQUIRES YOU TO RESOLVE ALL DISPUTES WITH TEACHAID ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND THROUGH FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION, RATHER THAN JURY TRIALS OR CLASS ACTIONS. IT ALSO LIMITS THE REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO YOU IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE.

This Agreement applies to your use of TeachAid’s platform, tools, mobile applications, website, and any related services provided by 1000662662 ONTARIO CORPORATION ("TeachAid," "Company," "we," or "us") at teachaid.com or any other official TeachAid platform (collectively, the "Services"). In this Agreement, "you" refers to the user of the Services.

 

Amendments

1000662662 ONTARIO CORPORATION reserves the right to modify this Agreement as necessary to reflect changes in the Services or applicable law. If changes are made, we will notify Users at least thirty (30) days before the updated Agreement takes effect by posting the updated version on teachaid.com and updating its “Effective Date.” If you have an account, we may also notify you directly via email or an in-app notification.

Your continued use of the Services after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Agreement.

 

User Accounts

TeachAid provides accounts for the following types of Users:

  • Educator Users: Teachers, administrators, or school officials using the Services to support teaching and learning.

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their accounts and promptly notifying TeachAid of unauthorized access.

 

Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services in compliance with this Agreement and applicable laws. TeachAid grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for personal or educational purposes only.

TeachAid reserves the right to modify or discontinue parts of the Services, impose usage restrictions, or terminate your access without prior notice if you violate this Agreement.

 

Prohibited Conduct

By using the Services, you agree not to:

  1. Engage in activities that compromise the security, functionality, or integrity of the Services.

  2. Use the Services to transmit harmful, illegal, or offensive content.

  3. Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code of TeachAid’s platform.

  4. Violate the privacy of other Users or misrepresent your identity.

TeachAid may suspend or terminate accounts for any prohibited conduct.

 

Acceptable Use and Code of Conduct

Users must adhere to the following principles:

  • Respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of others.

  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior in any interactions on the platform.

  • Use the Services in a manner consistent with their educational purpose.

 

Fees, Payment, and Renewing Subscriptions

Some TeachAid features require payment. Subscription fees are billed in advance and automatically renewed unless canceled before the renewal date. Payments are non-refundable unless explicitly stated.

TeachAid uses third-party payment processors and does not store your payment information directly. If a payment is declined, TeachAid may suspend your access to the paid features.

 

TeachAid Content and Intellectual Property Rights

The Services, including all content, features, and functionalities, are the intellectual property of 1000662662 ONTARIO CORPORATION or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any TeachAid content without prior authorization.

By using the Services, you grant TeachAid a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use feedback or content you submit to improve the platform.

 

Privacy

TeachAid is committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and share personal information.

 

Governing Law

  • For Users in Canada: This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario.

  • For Users outside Canada: This Agreement is governed by the laws of Delaware, USA.

 

Arbitration and Dispute Resolution

All disputes arising from or related to the Services will be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Users agree to waive their right to a jury trial or to participate in class actions.

 

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 1000662662 ONTARIO CORPORATION, its affiliates, and employees from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of the Services or violation of this Agreement.

 

Warranty Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. TeachAid does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

 

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeachAid will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. TeachAid’s liability is capped at the amount you paid for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

 

Termination

TeachAid may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at its sole discretion if you violate this Agreement. Upon termination, you lose access to all features of the Services, including any saved progress.

 

Miscellaneous

  • This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and TeachAid regarding the Services.

  • TeachAid’s failure to enforce a provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

  • If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
